The Nordics × United States · Seed Through Series A

One Bridge. Two Ways Across.

Nordic Founders, Introduced to American Capital.

Bifrost runs the Freyr Network, matching seed-stage Nordic companies with American investors, and is building a fund to back the region's best at Series A.

What We Do

Two Services, One Pipeline.

3×
The U.S. venture market is roughly three times the size of Europe's, with deeper pools at every stage.
Seed → A
We meet companies at seed through the network, then back the best of them at Series A through the fund.
Two Doors
Investors choose how to come in: pick deals one at a time through the network, or make one commitment through the fund.
The Freyr Network

Seed-Stage Introductions, Done Properly.

For Nordic Founders

Reach U.S. Investors.

You are building from Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Helsinki, or Reykjavík and want American capital on your cap table. We put you in front of angels and seed funds who fit your stage and sector.

  • Introductions matched to your sector, stage, and round size
  • A clear, U.S.-ready framing of your company and traction
  • Straight answers on what American investors expect, including structure
For U.S. Investors

See Nordic Deal Flow.

You want exposure to one of the most capital-efficient startup regions in the world without building a network there from scratch. You pick the deals. We bring you companies worth your time.

  • Seed-stage Nordic companies, screened before they reach you
  • Short briefs you can assess in minutes
  • A local read on each team, market, and cap table
The Process

Three Steps. No Middlemen After That.

Tell Us Who You Are

Founders share what they are building and raising. Investors share their thesis and check size.

We Match

We connect the two sides only where the fit is real. No lists, no mass email.

You Take It From There

We make the introduction and step back. The relationship is yours. We stay available if the structuring gets complicated.

Fit

What We Look For.

In Founders

  • Seed or pre-Series A, raising now or within six months
  • Based in the Nordics, with ambition beyond the home market
  • Evidence the product works: revenue, usage, or pilots
  • Open to what U.S. investment requires, including structure

In Investors

  • Writing seed or early-stage checks, fund or angel
  • A clear thesis we can match against
  • Willing to take a first call on a company outside the U.S.
  • Decent response time. Founders' momentum matters.
Membership

Three Tiers. Each One a Real Step Up.

Every tier lists exactly what you get: how many companies, how many introductions, what arrives in your inbox and when. No vague "more access."

Founders Are Not Tiered.

Founders pay one flat monthly engagement that runs only while you raise: preparation included, up to five warm investor introductions a month, and it ends when your round closes. No success fee, no equity, no percentage of anything.

Pricing for paid tiers and founder engagements is shared on request and agreed in writing before anything begins. Fees are flat at every tier, and no fee is contingent on a transaction closing. Bifrost does not handle investor funds and is not a broker-dealer; introductions are made for the parties to pursue directly.

The Name

Why Freyr?

Freyr

In Norse mythology, Freyr is the god of prosperity, peace, and good harvest. When the old stories wanted growth and plenty, they pointed at him.

Bifröst is the crossing. Freyr is what the crossing is for. The network exists so that capital and introductions reach the founders who have earned them, and so that good seasons follow.

The Feed

Nordic and U.S. Venture News.

A live feed of what's moving across both markets: funding, exits, policy, and the companies worth watching. Free to read, and the reason The Brief tier exists.

Headlines are aggregated from public news sources for convenience and link to the original publishers. Bifrost does not author or endorse third-party coverage. If a story won't load, your network may block the news service; the feed refreshes when you reopen the tab.

In Formation
The Fund

A Traditional Venture Fund. A Nordic Focus.

The fund is a separate vehicle from the Freyr Network, structured the way venture funds are: limited partners commit capital once, and we invest it in Nordic companies raising their Series A. No deal-by-deal decisions, no memberships. A classic fund, pointed at one region we know well.

Structure

How the Fund Works.

Limited Partners Commit Once

LPs make a single capital commitment to the fund. Capital is called as investments are made, the standard way.

We Invest at Series A

The fund builds a portfolio of Nordic companies at Series A, selected and managed by the Bifrost team.

Standard Fund Economics

Management fee and carried interest on conventional terms, with regular reporting to LPs. Full terms in the fund documents.

The Freyr Network and the fund are run separately, with separate terms. The network gives the team an unusual sourcing edge in the region, and that is where the overlap ends: network membership involves no fund commitment, and fund LPs owe nothing to the network.

For Investors

One Decision Instead of Twenty.

Some investors in our network want to pick deals one at a time. Others want Nordic exposure without the work of evaluating every company. The fund is built for the second group: a single commitment, deployed across the strongest Series A companies our pipeline produces.

Why Bifrost Exists

Strong Companies. An Ocean Between Them and the Capital They Need.

The Nordic region produces world-class companies at a rate far out of proportion to its size. Home markets are small, and later-stage capital is scarce, so the best founders look west early. American investors have the depth and the appetite, but few have a way to see, assess, and reach a founder five time zones away. Bifrost closes that distance at seed through the Freyr Network, and at Series A through the fund.

The Region

Why the Nordics Punch Above Their Weight.

Built for Export

Home markets of five to ten million people force Nordic companies to design for international customers from the first version.

English as a Working Language

Nordic countries sit at the top of global English-proficiency rankings. Diligence, contracts, and board meetings need no translation.

Capital Efficiency

Smaller local rounds teach Nordic teams to reach milestones on less. The discipline tends to survive the move to bigger checks.

Born in the Nordics

Twenty-Eight Million People. A Remarkable Export Record.

Every Nordic country has produced companies that compete globally. This is the lineage a Bifrost founder steps into.

Our Mission

Meet the Nordics' best companies at seed, and back them all the way to the other side of the bridge.

What We Believe

Four Principles We Hold To.

Warm Over Cold

Every introduction is personal, made by someone who knows both parties. We do not send scraped lists or mass email.

Curated, Not Crowded

We would rather show an investor one company they remember than ten they forget. The quality of the match is the product.

At Home on Both Sides

We know what U.S. investors expect and how Nordic companies are built. Metrics, deal structures, and cultural cues survive the crossing intact.

Honest With Everyone

We tell founders the truth about when they are ready, and investors the truth about what we are paid. That honesty is why people take our calls.

Who's Behind This

Classmates, With Roots Across the Nordics.

The Bifrost team met at the University of South Florida. Gavin Berg, raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, with family roots in Bergen and Stavanger, studies finance and legal studies and works as a venture analyst. Heikki Pursiheimo, from Rauma on Finland's west coast, studies finance.

Between us, the connections run from western Norway to the Finnish coast and across the U.S. The introductions began informally: a founder back home who needed a U.S. lead, an investor stateside curious about the region. Bifrost gives them a name and a front door.

It stays small on purpose. Every company is reviewed personally, and every introduction carries our reputation behind it.

The Name

Why Bifrost?

Bif·röst

In Norse mythology, Bifröst is the rainbow bridge between Midgard, the world of people, and Asgard, the realm of the gods. It exists for one purpose: to make the crossing possible.

That is the job here. One bridge, built for the crossing that matters, from a small home market to the deepest pool of capital in the world.

Before You Write

Common Questions.

What Are the Two Services, in One Breath?
The Freyr Network is a tiered membership that matches seed-stage Nordic companies with U.S. investors who pick their own deals. The fund, now in formation, is a separate, traditional venture vehicle that will invest in Nordic companies at Series A.
What Does the Freyr Network Cost?
Investor membership is tiered. The Brief is free and includes the live News feed plus a monthly digest. Member adds five company briefs and two introductions a month, a saved thesis, and a quarterly data report. Partner adds unlimited introductions, a 48-hour first look, co-investment invitations, and a direct line. Founders pay one flat monthly engagement that runs only while they raise. No success fees, no equity. Paid-tier pricing is shared on request and agreed in writing before anything begins.
Does Bifrost Handle the Money?
No. In the Freyr Network, investors invest directly in companies on their own terms. Bifrost makes introductions and is paid for sourcing and screening. We do not hold investor funds, execute transactions, or act as a broker-dealer.
When Does the Fund Launch?
The fund is in formation. If you want to be contacted when materials are available, write to us through the investor form and say so. Interests in the fund will be offered only to qualified investors through definitive documents.
What Stage and Sectors Do You Cover?
The Freyr Network covers seed and pre-Series A across sectors. The fund will target Series A. Most companies we see are software, but the filter is the team and the traction, not the category.
Do I Need a U.S. Entity to Raise From American Investors?
Not to talk to us. Many U.S. funds do prefer or require a U.S. holding company before they wire, and some cannot invest in foreign entities at all. We tell you what the investors you are targeting will expect before you get there.
How Are Companies Screened?
We talk to the team, look at the numbers, and use the network on the ground. An introduction from Bifrost means someone has done that work first.
